Colin Hughes

Colin studied violin at Trinity College of Music and is therefore surprised that you've come to hear him play the organ! After leaving college, he worked as a free-lance violinist and drummer for a few years before training as a secondary school teacher. He went on to teach music and music technology at a school in Hertfordshire for seven years before relocating to Eastbourne In 2008. He has become known locally as an accompanist and this is something that he loves doing.  In January 2020, he gave up his teaching post to focus on performing and instrumental teaching but, by mid March, the Prime Minister had other plans! Since then, he has watched a lot of television and (kind of) learned to cook.

Since the age of 17, Colin has held various organist posts and run choral societies.  He is currently the organist at St. Mary's church, Eastbourne, and runs Seaford Choral Society.

He is thrilled that he has the opportunity to perform again but is very nervous, so please be nice!
