Angelina Kopyrina
Born in Mirny, Russia, Angelina began playing the piano at the age of 5, giving her firstrecital a year later. She was then accepted at the Central Music School held at theMoscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she studied with Valery Piassetski. At14, Angelina performed Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 with YaroslavlPhilharmonic Orchestra in Yaroslavl and won second prize at the 4th InternationalNikolai Rubenstein piano competition in Paris, France.
In 2004, Angelina was offered a full scholarship to study at Trinity College of Music,London under Nina Sereda. While studying in London Angelina performed
Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, Mozart Piano Concerto No.23 and Rhapsody on atheme of Paganini at Barbican Hall as well as Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 atDukes Hall, RAM and St Martin at the fields. During Angelina’s time in the UK andEurope she won several competitions including the International Czech Republiccompetition, Morey Piano Competition and 2nd prize at The Hastings Music festivalpiano concerto competition.
After graduating in 2008, Angelina returned to Moscow where she studied a Masters
and Post Graduate at Gnesin Academy under Vladimir Tropp as well as be his assistant.
Angelina gave concerts at the Big and Small hall at Moscow Conservatory,
Rachmaninov’s hall, Moscow Philharmonic Hall, Sviatoslav Richter Museum and
Gnesin’s Academy Big hall.
Angelina accomplished her MPhil at Chichester University, entitled: Rachmaninov’spiano sonatas: Issues of performance interpretation considered through the historicalbackground, artistic influences, the scores, and performance practice. ”Angelina is an active concert pianist, performing at the Turner Sims; Southampton, Portsmouth Cathedral, Chichester Cathedral, St. James Church Piccadilly, St. Olave’sChurch; London and many other concert venues across the UK and Europe.
